Here's an interesting post from my friend Bill Frezza:
Prior to the primary last month, a widely-read Boston newspaper deliberated wisely between six candidates in two parties, and then endorsed two of them for United States Senator. Fortunately, one of those two candidates won his primary. I urge all now to rally behind Scott Brown, the primary winner endorsed by that widely-read newspaper, to be our next Senator from Massachusetts.
From a link sent to me, I highly recommend viewing and listening to
this memorial to those that perished at the Pentagon on 9/11.
The memorial was dedicated last year.
"To honor the 184 people whose lives were lost, their families, and all those
who sacrifice that we may live in freedom. We will never forget."

General comments:
Overall theme heard from the speakers: The Conservative Movement is alive and well, no thanks to the Republican Party. We let the elections take us away from our principles, ideas, and central focus. The American people became confused, and we lost their support.
Conservatives can continue to talk and complain and be nice gentlemen and ladies… and we’ll all wake up someday under communist rule.
Much attention was given to the inauguration of president Barack Obama and his call for a ”New Era of Personal Responsibility”. To many people I’m sure this sounded reasonable and welcome and to some even inspiring. But, does the President’s theme go far enough? Under the current economic environment we certainly need individuals to take more personal (and more specifically financial) responsibility from Wall Street and the boardroom to main street and the living room.
I appreciate the effort by FinCom to produce a Point of View (POV) document, and for the FinCom request for feedback. The POV document recognizes the dire economic conditions we see all around us. It talks in general about the key issues to be considered in this year’s budget, but this POV needs to be more specific and to provide strong specific guidance for prudent budgets this year because, as the WSJ reported, the U.S.
Let’s say you are Acton town manager for a day, and taxpayers gave you a rainy-day fund that if you don’t spend it now, will then be used elsewhere in the budget. You've always wanted to highlight a path across Main Street to the flagpole and cannon. Your choices are either $97,000 for brick and cobblestones or a few hundred dollars for labor and paint. Which do you choose?
You took the paint route? Great choice! We think alike, although not spending even the few hundred dollars for paint might be a great option too.
