Adams National Historical Park, Quincy MA

The John Adams and John Quincy Adams birthplace is just under an hour's drive from Acton. Its a fantastic place to visit and learn about the life of our 2nd and 6th presidents - there is a trolly-led tour of numerous sites in the Quincy area, and lasts about 2 hours. A car full of us made this fun "pilgrimage" on the last day of their 2008 season, and had a blast. You will too! We heartily recommend it!! The tour guides are VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE about all the famous and not-so-famous as well, members of these families - they clearly have done A GREAT deal of homework. They are also quite well versed with David McCullough's book, pointing out the ins and outs (apparently, it's a stretch that Abigail and the kids poured lead into bullet molds). The park season is from April 19 thru November 10, and hours are from 9 to 5 (last tour about 3). Cost per person is a VERY REASONABLE $5 per person!
